Unique Process Solves MEMS Reliability, Size, and Cost Issues
MEMS sensing technology company Omnitron Sensors has validated a process for a fast, rugged, and low-cost microelectromechanical system (MEMS) scanning mirror for a novel optical subsystem meeting the most demanding requirements of LiDARs in automotive advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), drones, and robotics. Reportedly, the company’s MEMS mirror will produce a 2X to 3X larger field of view than comparable MEMS mirrors used in long-range LiDARs.
